      This Lead Engineer position will support the Next Generation GEO (NGG) program. As part of a new Line of Business, the Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading engineering teams, such as Ground, Hardware, Network, Communications, Communications Security, Systems Administrators, and Maintenance Controllers, that support the NGG testing and operational missions. The Lead Engineer will work with the Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to ensure Customer and stakeholder values are met. They will ensure each IPT has adequate interim operations support related to development, operations, and sustainment issues into the appropriate forums, as an example, Change Board, Corrective Action Board, Program Status/Management Reviews, or Joint Enterprise Deconfliction Integration.
      The Lead Engineer assists the NGG Program Management team in understanding design issues and the risks of program decisions at the factories and with stakeholders. Must be able to work closely with Program Management, Factory Operations, Quality, Subcontracts, Contracts, and Planning to insure all internal and external interim operations’ goals and Mission Success Events are accomplished.
      This position will report to the NGG Site Deputy Program Manager and will be expected to work closely with the program teams within the NGG Interim Control Center (NICC).
      Primary duties will be to drive technical excellence and mission success through daily interaction with various engineers and technical leads, coaching and supporting as necessary. Success criteria includes meeting technical, cost and schedule for engineering related tasks and activities. This individual will also be required to communicate technical status and issues internally to program and functional leadership as well as externally to customers.
      The lead engineer must be able to actively manage a broad range of technical and programmatic activities including development, system test, safety, operations and post-fielding technical support. *Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
      *Previous program Experience (SBIRS or other OPIR program) *Must be willing and able to support 24x7 operations *The successful candidate must have prior technical leadership experience and be able to manage highly complex technical projects with little oversight.
      *The candidate must be able to take general guidance from Leadership and strategically integrate it into the program’s operational rhythm. *Experience in planning and leading technical solutions from proposal through development, testing, integration, interim operations, and post analysis.
      *Familiarity and knowledge of missile warning systems and experience with government customer is strongly desired.
