- Supports the team through planning, scheduling tasks, identification of work packages for delegation to staff, and reviews / approves recommendations and assessments. Plans and co-ordinates activities related to the responsibilities below
- Ensures system safety is maintained in ATM core systems
- Performs Requirements Management of system requirements
- Directs, performs, and reviews impact assessments UCR / CP’s
- Directs, performs, and reviews the System Design to incorporate the recommended solution
- Directs, performs, and reviews System Integration for the system changes
- Directs, performs, and reviews system performance engineering activities
- Directs, performs, and reviews system testing and validation activities
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the planning, design, implementation, and validation of safety or mission critical systems.
- Experience in the interpretation of operational requirements and the development of Technical Specifications such as Software Requirements Specification (SRS) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for large-scale safety or mission critical systems.
- Experience investigating, analyzing, and resolving complex technical problems.
- Experience in overseeing technical work activities or leading engineering project teams.
- Experience in facilitation, negotiation, and building collaborative relationships across various departments and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles and methodologies. This includes knowledge of system requirements analysis, system design methodologies, configuration management, and system validation processes.
- Knowledge of system safety and regulatory standards.
- Knowledge of requirements management tools, problem tracking tools, configuration management tools and test management tools, such as IBM Jazz.
- Knowledge of industry trends and developments.
- Knowledge of networking, communication standards and protocols.
- Knowledge of Linux is considered an asset.
- Ability to set priorities, to adapt to changing priorities, to work under minimal supervision, to coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team, and to handle multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to plan, coordinate and conduct studies and investigations and develop software design changes to improve systems.
- Ability to analyze, evaluate, design and implement solutions to resolve technical and maintenance problems.
- Ability to develop, evaluate and implement system/software standards and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
