- Oversee the configuration, administration, and maintenance of multiple Microsoft Office 365 tenants’ services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM) and Windows Cloud PCs, overseeing device enrollment, compliance and configuration policies, and application management.
- Ensure seamless integration of Microsoft Office 365 and associate services with other IT systems and applications, such as ERP solutions or third-party tools, to facilitate efficient data flow and interoperability.
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and configurations, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity in system administration tasks.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for IREX IT systems and applications, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruption to business operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in IT operations, proactively implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring that Office 365 requirements are properly addressed and implemented.
- Collaborate and interact with developers and vendors to ensure project completion and alignment with organizational goals.
- Assist in the evaluation of new services and products, researching and assessing their suitability for integration into the IREX IT environment to support organizational needs and objectives.
- Design and implement Microsoft Azure services, such as VMs and Networks, to support IT infrastructure requirements.
- Implement security best practices and compliance policies within the Office 365 environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years of work experience.
- Proven experience as an Office 365 Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of Office 365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure Active Directory.
- Hands-on experience with Office 365 administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of email protocols, mail flow, and SMTP.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for Office 365 automation and management.
- Familiarity with Office 365 security and compliance features.
- The ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with teams, and build strong relationships.
- Capacity to adjust to changing environments, embrace new challenges, and remain resilient in the face of uncertainty.
- Proficiency in analyzing data, synthesizing information, and making informed decisions is important.

Position Purpose Summary
Responsible for ensuring that IREX staff have a stable and secure information technology environment. Responsible for aligning information technology standards and guidelines are implemented consistently across the organization, both locally and overseas. Supervises IREX staff and services providers.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Systems Engineer holds a pivotal position within IREX, responsible for the technical management, optimization, and integration of IREX’s IT infrastructure, with a specialized focus on Microsoft Office 365, Intune, and Defender. This individual serves as the primary driver behind ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems, bolstering security measures, and enhancing efficiency across geographical regions.
In this role, the IT Systems Engineer takes charge of implementing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business, ensuring that they are tailored to meet the unique needs of our global operations.
Performs additional duties and tasks to meet the organization's, team, or as assigned by the manager.

The salary range for this role is $115,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
Please note: While we aim to offer competitive compensation, not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
We conduct background checks on all successful candidates.
This role requires regular onsite work. The selected candidate must be a full-time Washington DC-based employee, working from the DC office at least three days per week.
