      The Systems Product Analyst acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that requirements are clearly defined, documented, and delivered in line with the Scrum framework. This position works with a diverse stakeholder group, identifies areas of contention, and creates a shared understanding between the customer community and the solution delivery team, while maintaining alignment with business and IT strategies.


      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with business units to fully understand business processes, challenges, and anticipate IT needs.
      • Analyze current business processes and make recommendations for improvement based on industry trends and professional business knowledge.
      • Focus on business value, meeting business needs, as well as enabling and encouraging fact-based decision making.
      • Identify, refine, and accurately articulate the business objectives and value proposition of assigned initiatives. Bring alternative perspectives and influence consensus among stakeholders.
      • Effectively verify and validate requirements; ensure that all requirements support the delivery of business value, fulfill goals and objectives, and meet a stakeholder need.
      • Collaborate with Business Stakeholders, Development, and QA teams to ensure a clear and shared understanding of requirements and priorities.
      • Create, maintain, and prioritize assigned team backlog, ensuring that it reflects current business priorities and project goals, using company’s work tracking system (currently JIRA) for reporting purposes.
      • Write clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements that guide the development team.
      • Research and analyze business problems to determine if systems solutions are advisable and available.
      • Use a variety of data analysis and organization tools to discover the most impactful opportunities.
      • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, and running sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
      • Communicate requirements and project status effectively to stakeholders and team members.
      • Liaison with QA/Testing team for test plan and testing activities. Ensure the test strategy and test plans adequately cover the requirements. Support the planning and execution of testing.
      • Assist in troubleshooting application issues and defect resolution with the business and development teams.
      • Continuously strive to improve understanding of requirements techniques, processes and deliverables required to support successful project delivery. Embrace feedback and opportunities for process improvement.
      • Simultaneously support multiple initiatives as assigned. Support both large enhancements and ongoing system maintenance work simultaneously.
      • Communicate ideas and viewpoints to senior management.
      • Assist QA with Functional Systems testing.
      • To the extent necessary, encourage and support teammates regarding application of the organization’s accepted Agile practices.

      Requirements

      EDUCATION

      Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required.


      Equivalent experience may substitute for minimum educational requirements. Equivalent experience may include five (5) years of relevant experience.


      EXPERIENCE

      Minimum of three (3) years of experience in business systems analysis or equivalent role, including experience with requirement gathering, documentation, business process modeling, and supporting business technology systems required. Working knowledge of systems, applications, web technologies, and architectures required.


      Experience working in Scrum and Agile frameworks preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience with SQL and Excel preferred. Familiarity with programming languages like Visual Basic and Java strongly preferred. Property and Casualty experience is a plus.

      Preferred work arrangement hybrid on-site, but remote candidates will be considered based on qualifications and experience.
