      Working/Functional Title

      Systems Technician

      Position Summary

      As a member of the System Governance and Administration team, this position will work closely with other team members in University Procurement and Logistics to assist in the design, modification, testing, implementation, and integration of complex enterprise procurement and supply chain systems including but not limited to SAP Ariba, Shopify, SCLogic, UPS Ship Exec, and Quadient. They will work to create, write, and sustain technical documentation and work instructions, provide operational coverage and redundancy for System Governance and Administration and will align with the goals and strategic direction of University Procurement and Logistics.

      Position duties

      • Creates technical documentation, architecture, and workflow diagrams

      • Maintains the documentation lifecycle for technical documents, architecture, and workflow diagrams

      • Assists in documenting quality assurance steps in end-to-end testing

      • Follows a documented process to create cross-release deployments

      • Monitors and supports existing data integrations and workflows

      • Manages and supports security and permissions of enterprise applications

      • Participates in implementation workstreams through go-live phase; manages and resolves unforeseen defects and anticipated issues or slippage

      • Implements project/enhancement/maintenance/production support activities for the application teams

      • Works independently to continuously improve the application experience of the supply chain and logistics applications

      • Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned

      Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

      Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree in Data Processing or Computer Science; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in computer programming, analysis and operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Desired Qualifications

      • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with little supervision/oversight

      • Ability to share knowledge and provide guidance in a way that non-technical partners can understand

      • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills

      • Experience with managing configuration for enterprise applications

      • Experience in change management and/or change processes

      • Experience with security roles and permissions in an enterprise application

      • Experience in supply chain or logistics

      • Experience with SQL and/or experience writing database queries to collect information

      • Excellent written and verbal skills

      • Experience with technical writing and documentation
