- The Tableau Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports to support the analytics and reporting needs.
- This role requires strong expertise in Tableau and related BI tools, as well as the ability to collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards, visualizations, and reports for labor statistics, workforce analytics, and compliance tracking.
- Work with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
- Optimize dashboards for performance, usability, and scalability.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy by validating data sources and implementing governance standards.
- Create calculated fields, parameters, sets, and LOD (Level of Detail) expressions to meet complex reporting needs.
- Perform data preparation and blending using Tableau Prep or SQL queries.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Tableau with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or cloud-based data warehouses).
- Provide ad-hoc reports and analytics support for Department of Labor leadership and program managers.
- Train end-users and provide knowledge transfer/documentation for Tableau solutions.
- 5+ years of experience as a Tableau Developer or BI Developer.
- Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Online.
- Expertise in SQL for querying and data preparation.
- Experience with data visualization best practices and dashboard optimization.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and working with large datasets.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in an Agile environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Tableau certification (Desktop Specialist, Certified Associate, or Certified Professional).
- Experience with Tableau Prep for data cleaning and transformation.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data hosting.
- Knowledge of Department of Labor programs, workforce analytics, or government reporting standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
