  • The Tableau Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports to support the analytics and reporting needs.
  • This role requires strong expertise in Tableau and related BI tools, as well as the ability to collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making.
  
  Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards, visualizations, and reports for labor statistics, workforce analytics, and compliance tracking.
  • Work with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
  • Optimize dashboards for performance, usability, and scalability.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy by validating data sources and implementing governance standards.
  • Create calculated fields, parameters, sets, and LOD (Level of Detail) expressions to meet complex reporting needs.
  • Perform data preparation and blending using Tableau Prep or SQL queries.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Tableau with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or cloud-based data warehouses).
  • Provide ad-hoc reports and analytics support for Department of Labor leadership and program managers.
  • Train end-users and provide knowledge transfer/documentation for Tableau solutions.
  
  Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Tableau Developer or BI Developer.
  • Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Online.
  • Expertise in SQL for querying and data preparation.
  • Experience with data visualization best practices and dashboard optimization.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and working with large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment and manage multiple priorities.
  
  Preferred Skills
  • Tableau certification (Desktop Specialist, Certified Associate, or Certified Professional).
  • Experience with Tableau Prep for data cleaning and transformation.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data hosting.
  • Knowledge of Department of Labor programs, workforce analytics, or government reporting standards.
  
  Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
