      ***This role is based in a remote part of southern central Florida. All personnel will be required to live on-site, and meals and housing will be provided. Flights provided!**

      Position Overview: We are seeking a highly vigilant and detail-oriented Tactical Operations Center (TOC) Watch Officer to join our team at the command center of a custodial facility. In this critical role, you will serve as the central communication hub, ensuring the immediate and effective coordination of all security and emergency responses within the facility.

      Responsibilities

      • Monitor and operate all communication systems, including multi-channel radios, phones, and intercoms, within the TOC.
      • Act as the primary dispatcher for all security, emergency, and operational requests, allocating resources efficiently and effectively.
      • Receive and accurately document all incoming information, including incident reports, alarms, and calls for assistance.
      • Maintain real-time awareness of all facility activities, inmate movements, and staff locations through surveillance systems and direct communication.
      • Initiate and coordinate emergency response protocols, including lockdowns, medical emergencies, fires, and security breaches, immediately notifying appropriate personnel and external agencies as required.
      • Disseminate critical information to relevant staff and departments in a timely and clear manner.
      • Document all communications, incidents, and actions taken in comprehensive logs and reports.
      • Operate and monitor various security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, and perimeter alarms.
      • Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information and operational procedures.
      • Adhere to all facility rules, regulations, and safety protocols.
      • Provide clear and concise instructions and guidance to staff in the field during routine and emergency situations.

      Qualifications

      • Must have previous experience in a dispatch, command center, or emergency communications role, preferably within a correctional, law enforcement, or security environment.
      • Proficient in operating multi-channel radio systems, phone lines, etc.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
      • Strong ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
      • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and information dissemination.
      • Must be at least 18 years of age.
      • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
      • Ability to pass a medical assessment and drug screening.
      • Proficient in basic computer applications and data entry.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team within a 24/7 operation.
      • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as the TOC operates continuously.

      Work Environment:

      Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

      Physical Requirements:

      Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach during shifts. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
