      On a day-to-day basis, you’ll head off to visit individuals in their homes to install tagging equipment. You’ll either work alone or alongside a Monitoring Support Officer. You’ll be part of a friendly, welcoming team, who’ll support you as you learn and develop, as together you help to make our country a safer place.
      With every individual you meet, you’ll have the opportunity to build their confidence in both you and the justice system, reassuring them of their safety, as well as that of the general public. With every successful case, you’ll be directly helping reduce the pressure on the prison system and give ex-prisoners the chance to be part of their community again. Every day and every individual is different, which is what makes this role so varied and full of opportunities to learn.

      You’ll receive three weeks of ICT training and will be accompanied by a Training Officer on the road until you’re comfortable in your role. And with support from your manager, you’ll have the chance to grow your skills and progress your career, whether it’s into a management role or within the wider Capita business.
      Whether you’ve previously worked as a postie, a broadband engineer, or a door-to-door salesperson or whether you’ve got experience within social care, the police force or the military, we’re open to hearing from you!       Compensation: You’ll be rewarded with £24,102.92 and a company car which includes personal use

      Working hours: You’ll be working on a rotating shift pattern, between 5pm – 1am which averages 37.5 hours per week including some weekends and bank holidays.

We’re providing the Ministry of Justice with electronic monitoring services (including ‘tagging’) across England and Wales.       What you’ll do:

      • As a Tagging Officer, you will visit individuals in the community, whether that’s alone or alongside a colleague, to install, calibrate or decommission monitoring equipment.
      • You’ll be on the road regularly throughout your shift- don’t worry, we provide you with a fully expensed vehicle for this.
      • Sometimes, we may have priority visits to complete, you’ll be there to address any incidents and liaise with our support teams to discuss potential issues or breaches.
      • On rare occasions, our Tagging Officers may be asked to contribute to a court hearing which you must attend. You’ll receive support and training prior to any court hearing.
      • As a Tagging Officer it’s important to keep track of equipment and make sure paperwork is completed in a timely, accurate and compliant manner.
      • You’ll check and clean equipment when it’s issued and on collection as well as quarantine any equipment which needs to be held for evidence.

      What you’ll need to bring:

      • It’s essential that you have a full UK Driving Licence, at least a year of driving experience and comfortable driving at night on a variety of roads
      • You’ll need to be physically mobile, as you’ll be installing and removing equipment
      • Excellent verbal and written manner and basic IT skills are also required, as you’ll be updating your bespoke tablet
