TRPG is currently seeking to add a Tax Advisor position to our team located in Paramus, NJ. The Tax Advisor will have a degree in accounting and either have earned or on the path to earn CPA. They will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience providing clients with comprehensive tax planning and projections, preparation of taxes. They will possess a deep understanding of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance.

      What you will do:

      • Work with the client directly to prepare both personal and business tax returns, prepare projections, and calculate tax estimates
      • Provide timely and high-quality client service in response to client inquiries
      • Work with wealth managers regarding different client situations and prepare analysis on tax outcomes of transactions
      • Communicate with business owners regarding owner payroll and provide insight on how much would be required for their business
      • Meet with clients on an annual/semi‐annual basis to discuss changing business needs
      • Ability to work with high‐net worth clients
      • Ability to work on complex tax returns, such as trusts, international taxation, etc.
      • Follow up with clients regarding changes in the tax laws and regulations
      • Respond to IRS and state notices as needed on the client’s behalf
      • Research industry guidelines. Stay up to date with current rules and regulations
      • Comply with current policies and procedures for tax rules and regulations
      • Keep SalesForce updated
        • Add new tax referrals
        • Take notes and add to SF after each client interaction. Communicate follow-up ToDos.
      • Black Diamond - utilize for client facing meetings.
      • Utilize myTrailhead for company and department specific training
      • Utilize Tax Caddy for tax
      • Utilize CCH software for client document retrieval

      What you need to have:

      • Prior experience in working with taxes in a professional office environment
      • Understanding of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
      • Self‐starter with client first mentality
      • Ability to communicate with co‐workers, clients and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
      • Highly organized and attention to detail

      Compensation:

      The base annual salary range for this role is $82,000-$112,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
