Job Description

- Delivering the subsystem documentation (Requirement Specification and Architecture Description RSAD, Technical Purchase Specification TPS, Interface Control Document ICD).
- Defining and implementing the functional, performance, transverse, and train level requirements of the dedicated subsystem.
- Integrating the subsystem into the train (mechanically and electrically)
- Defining the Interface (mechanical and electrical) for the dedicated subsystem.
- Verifying of the subsystem (focus on train level) including design reviews.
- Change and configuration management process for the subsystem on train level.
- Control of changes after design changes including impact analysis.
- Planning and follow up of all activities linked to the subsystem.
- Support sourcing, suppliers, Chief Engineers, Interior engineers, RAMS engineers, and validation engineers.
- Providing inputs to engineering team, sourcing, suppliers
- Bachelor of Engineering degree (Master of Engineering / PhD degree are a plus)
- Extensive relevant work experience (typically at least 5 years of relevant work experience with Bachelor of Engineering degree but flexible)
- Understanding of the system engineering process and mastering a system engineering methodology (e.g. SysML)
- Knowledge of network technologies and Ethernet and other industrial communication network is beneficial
- Fluent in English
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn

Could you be the full-time TC&IS System Engineer in Derby we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your TC&IS subsystem expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Ahmed Nour (Passenger Announcements, CCTV & Information Systems (PACIS) Manager, Derby), and work alongside teammates acting as senior System Engineer referee.
You'll be responsible for defining the architecture and functionality of the TC&IS subsystem (PACIS, CCTV, Multimedia, event recorder, ground communication with the train, ATC/safety equipment) according to the different requirements. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business ensuring integration with the train and monitoring suppliers and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of delivering the subsystem documentation but also defining and implementing train level requirements of the dedicated subsystem .
