Are you looking for a rewarding career? Do you want to make a difference in a child’s life? East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking individuals for paid on-the-job training as Teacher assistant/Float in our Head Start preschool classrooms in Warren.
Due to the critical nature of this position to provide services to the children, EBCAP is offering a two-step sign-on bonus totaling $1000 for external applicants.
The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of child development, a desire to teach and nurture young children, and a desire to learn and develop new skills as an early education teacher.
Under the direction and supervision of a Lead Teacher, the teacher assistant float will work with a classroom team of professionals to provide a supportive classroom environment, assist in classroom activities, and ensure that children are always supervised.
This position requires that job candidates are willing to participate in training and college coursework to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential within one year of hire. EBCAP will provide or recommend professional development training, as well as a CDA consultant at no cost to the employee. College course tuition reimbursement is provided, up to $2,100 per year. College coursework and some professional development training must be completed after work hours.
Job candidates must have a high school diploma or a GED and
RI Department of Education Certificate of Completion of Teacher Assistant Training or
6 college credit hours in Early Childhood Education coursework or
Child Development Associate (CDA)
Other candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
This is a full-time (35-hour/week) position.
