      Sign-On Bonus

      This position offers a $2,500.00 hiring bonus that has a structured payout as follows (if employment is active and in good standing): $500.00 at 30-days of employment, $1,000.00 at 3-months of employment, and $1,000.00 at 12-months of employment.

      Position Summary

      The Teacher Counselor assists in the developing, implementing, and monitoring of mental health treatment plans and procedures that result in improved functioning and high rates of successful program completion among youth (13-17 years old males). This position assures staff are attending to the safety, health, and well-being of youth in a trauma informed manner and environment. The Teacher Counselor resides with assigned youth and offers flexible hours and shifts.

      Essential Responsibilities

      1. Build positive relationships with youth within the program, ensuring their safety and well-being.
      2. Support youths' daily living skills and group management.
      3. Participate in treatment planning and implementation.
      4. Create and engage in therapeutic and educational activities.
      5. Professional development and training.
      6. Maintain accurate documentation and record keeping, meeting paperwork deadlines.

      Qualifications

      Education/Credentials/Licensure:

      1. Bachelor's Degree (those without a bachelor's degree may be considered for the Teacher Counselor Aide title) .
      2. Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

      Experience:

      Entry-level, no experience required.

      Clearances:

      • State Police
      • FBI clearance per state regulation
      • Child Abuse Registry and Clearances
      • CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training per state regulation.
      • Any additional background checks/clearances required by state governing bodies.

      Working Conditions

      • Physical Demands. Requires vision, speech, and hearing and a moderate to high level of physical activity including; sitting, standing, walking lifting and carrying as required. Must be able to meet the demands and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
      • Environmental Factors. Indoors/Outdoors: Residential treatment facility, school, home, community.
      • Working Hours. 40 hour week, variable schedule based on program need.
