      Bright Horizons manages child care for the PGA TOUR coast to coast. Each week you will be in a different location to set up a temporary space, provide care Wednesday through Sunday, tear down, pack up and travel to the next site.

      Primary Purpose

      Provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum according to guidelines established by Bright Horizons. Demonstrate a mastery of teaching and maintain in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of early childhood. Assure compliance with health and safety practices and company policies for their primary group of children. Incorporate Bright Horizons ’mission, culture, goals, values (HEART Principles), philosophies and policies into day to day work to create and maintain an inclusive environment and positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and supervisors. Celebrate and value all children and adults by welcoming and honoring their unique abilities and backgrounds. Fulfill mandated reporter requirements as defined by the appropriate state agency including immediately reporting any suspected cases of abuse and neglect to the agency, informing the supervisor. Demonstrate sound judgment in unusual or crisis situations. Spend more than 50% of the time in the classroom, teaching children and ensuring that Bright Horizons curriculum for learning is implemented in the classroom. A one year minimum commitment is required. Significant travel, both domestic and international up to 100% of the time required.

      Major Functions/Responsibilities
      Staff/Child Interactions

      ■ Interact with children frequently, affectionately, and respectfully at their level in all settings. Be available and respond promptly
      and appropriately to their needs. Encourage and model social behavior and expectations that are developmentally appropriate.
      ■ Enhance children's play with language, materials, and activities. Engage in frequent conversations with children and look for
      opportunities to expand their learning and extend their thinking.
      ■ Provide instruction to and modeling for volunteers in the areas of developmentally appropriate teacher/child interactions.
      ■ Model for volunteers how to properly read and respond to children’s cues, manage behavioral challenges, and facilitate small and
      large group activities with children.
      Supervision, Health and Safety
      ■ Instruct volunteers and directly implement all health and safety procedures established by Bright Horizons. Encourage children to
      utilize appropriate health, safety, and nutritional practices.
      ■ Maintain a safe, clean, appealing, and organized work area which is accessible to children.
      ■ Keep children within limits of sight and sound supervision at all times. Maintain accurate attendance tracking sheets (We Care)
      throughout the day. Know the number of children in your care, and maintain required staff/child ratios.
      Program/Curriculum
      ■ Instruct volunteers and directly implement Bright Horizons curriculum, including signature practices and enrichment programs.
      ■ Observe and provide feedback to volunteers on the variety and developmental appropriateness of classroom materials and
      activities offered. Materials and activities should foster social skills and encourage children to problem solve, question, experiment,
      and be creative.

      ■ Plan classroom daily schedules that provide a balance of activities. Maintain flexibility to change planned activities according to
      children's interests.
      ■ Create documentation of children's learning, daily experiences, and accomplishments.
      Parent/Guardian Communication
      ■ Respond to parent/guardian questions and concerns with sensitivity, interest, and respect in a timely manner. Keep supervisor
      informed of all parent concerns.
      ■ Communicate to parent/guardian unusual incidents, concerns or sensitive information regarding the program or their child, under
      the guidance of the supervisor.
      ■ Instruct volunteers in proper methods for communicating with families daily regarding the development and activities of the
      children in their primary care.
      Professionalism and Teamwork
      ■ Develop positive relationships with colleagues through professional and respectful communication and collaboration. Proactively
      work to resolve issues and concerns. Assume a fair share of responsibility in the classroom. Demonstrate initiative, and look for
      ways to be helpful in meeting the needs of children, the classroom, and teaching team.
      ■ Ensure continuity of care for children by reporting to work on time and maintaining consistent attendance. Demonstrate flexibility
      to scheduling adjustments based upon program and center needs. Attend all mandatory meetings including staff meetings, trainings,
      and other location events. Actively contribute to program initiatives and positive work environment.
      ■ Respond to and integrate change in a positive and constructive manner. Take responsibility for actions. Give and receive feedback
      with respect and a willingness to make suggested changes for professional growth.
      Leadership
      ■ Model exemplary behavior with children, parents/guardians and colleagues. Give direction as needed to volunteers and less
      experienced staff.
      ■ Ensure that daily responsibilities are completed and that jobs are shared and taught to each team member and volunteers.
      ■ Orient new team members and volunteers to classroom routines, curriculum practices, and parent/guardian communication.
      Decision Making Authority
      ■ Make routine decisions regarding classroom management, respond to children’s needs, create and implement lesson plans
      (subject to review by supervisor). Use good judgement, and ask for assistance where needed.
      ■ Must comply with mandated reporting requirements. Suspected child abuse or neglect must be promptly reported to the
      appropriate State agency, or to the supervisor who then becomes responsible for filing the report immediately. The teacher has the
      obligation and the right to contact the appropriate state agency directly.
      ■ May take action but must inform director when caring for child with significant injury, learning of a parent/guardian concern, or
      recording an unusual incident.
      ■ Supervisor approval needed for schedule changes, time off requests, transition of a child into another classroom, or administration
      of medication to a child, and to release a child to someone other than known parent/guardian, discuss behavioral challenges or
      developmental concerns with a parent/guardian, contact a parent/guardian about a child’s temperature or illness, or seek outside
      support services for a child.
      Job Requirements
      Education
      ■ Requires an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

      Experience
      ■ A minimum of 12 months of full-time employment with Bright Horizons (if internal) or 12 months employment working full time in an early child care center
      ■ Exceptionally strong organizational, communication & interpersonal skills
      ■ The ability to lead and give directions
      ■ The ability to create and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for multi-age groups
      ■ The ability to multi-task and remain poised and professional in highly stressful situations
      ■ Be a team player with a positive attitude
      ■ Ensure positive communication with parents and team members daily
      ■ Maintain a safe, clean and organized classroom
      ■ Domestic and international travel required. Must be able to travel to a major airport and be willing to be away from home for up to 21 days.
      ■ The ability to work on major holidays and weekends between the months of January and mid-November. Days may begin early
      and end late.
      ■ Experience working with children of varying ages from infants to adolescents preferred
      Physical Demands
      ■ Follow state, federal and Bright Horizons’ guidelines regarding immunizations, employment physical and required health and
      safety training and practices.
      ■ Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements. Respond
      immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
      ■ Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to ensure compliance with enhanced health and safety protocols and to keep themselves
      and others safe and free from illness.
      ■ Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and otherwise fully participate in activities.
      ■ Frequently lift, move and hold children with weight from 10-40 pounds. Occasionally lift, move, or hold weight more than 40
      pounds.

      Our PGA Teacher salary is $15/hr. Salary is determined by your level of education and experience in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
