      Job summary

      An opportunity has arisen within Children's Services at Arrowe Park Hospital. Our friendly, dynamic and talented team requires senior children's nurses with experience in emergency nursing to join them in an exciting opportunity to become part of our nursing team as a Band 6 Team Leader.

      This is a rewarding but demanding role that requires a dedicated nurse to lead the team who deliver emergency care to patients and their families in the diverse population of the Wirral.

      Main duties of the job

      We are looking for a children's nurse who is looking to lead in an exciting dynamic busy Children's Emergency Department. We want an enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse that can demonstrate a kind, caring and compassionate attitude with a desire to provide effective and efficient emergency care.

      We have a dedicated professional development nurse to guide, educate and support programme and work towards national frameworks for emergency/children's nursing.

      The Trust offers an array of medical, surgical and specialist conditions that are managed, for our patients.

      The position will offer the successful candidates an insight into their leadership qualities, their ability to successfully implement change within a team and act as a role model within a management position.

      If successful in this role there is a requirement that you will have an enhanced DBS - this will be paid for by the Trust and deducted from your salary over a period of 3 months.

      As this vacancy is within the division of Women's & Children's there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service, the cost of joining the update service is £16 per year and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust. Further details about how to join the update service will be provided upon appointment.
