Job summary
Here at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospital an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Photography Team Leader to become a key role within our Medical Photography department within Radiology. We require someone who has excellent organisational and Interpersonal skills and who can continuously improve themselves and help others to do so within the department. The successful candidate will be able to lead a team, support the service and be proactive in developing service and staff development. We are a challenging and fast paced service and require someone who can step into this role with confidence, professionalism and the ability to motivate themselves and others. We are a 4 site trust and as part of your role you may be required to work across all 4 sites (Pinderfields, Pontefract, Community Diagnostic Centre and Dewsbury).

Main duties of the job
Main duties To take responsibility for the leadership, strategic and operational management to the Department of Medical Photography service under the direction of the Radiology Service Manager. Responsibility of providing a comprehensive, cost effective high quality clinical and non-clinical photographic service for patient record, research, teaching and publication to clinicians and other health care professionals.

Job responsibilities
To always maintain a high technical and professional standard within Photography and Videography including correctly positioning patients to obtain the optimum image.
In conjunction the Radiology Service Manager, contribute to the development of the Photography service and delivery of a strategic vision for the department.
To have the responsibility for ensuring that all photography including complex and graphic photography procedures are carried out by the team in accordance with the departmental systems of work and protocols and the relevant consent has been obtained from the patient/staff/member of public.
To discuss any questionable requests with the referring clinician.
To work without supervision performing a full range of high quality, appropriate photographic examinations as requested by clinicians across all four sites.
To actively develop high standards of patient care in self and others, ensuring Trust policies and protocols are widely communicated and are implemented e.g., infection control.
To undertake graphic/distressing photographs for the purpose of patient care documentation and have excellent hand-eye coordination.
To be able to interpret a wide range of photographs and escalation any significant findings to the relevant referrer
To frequently review the Quality of the images taken by the team and discuss any concerns with the team.
To ensure adequate photography cover is provided for theatres, Inpatients, A&E patients and Outpatients.
