      Team Leader Maintenance I - 2nd Shift

      New Bern, NC / Full-time

      Your responsibilities

      The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for the performance and effectiveness of their maintenance crew for their assigned shift. The Maintenance Team Leader acts as the communication conduit between The Maintenance Supervisor and the technicians on their shift. The Team Leader is directly responsible for balancing the workload and overseeing the quality of the work being done by multiple trades in the department. Additionally, the Team Leader will provide technical insight and/or direction to technicians in carrying out their assignments and may perform some of the same work as team members.

      · Places the Safety of the members of their team at top of all priorities.

      · Trains, coaches & mentors team members on safe work practices to ensure the safety of each team member.

      · Follow safety requirements as they pertain to work performed (Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Arc Flash, etc.)

      · Ensures team members are compliant with required PPE during daily work.

      · Initiates safety talks/discussions with their team members.

      · Perform work within your physical capabilities.

      · Ensure all safety devices on equipment are functioning properly.

      · Actively involves his/her associates in 5S activities; performs 5S process confirmations.

      · Follows the BSH Guiding Principles (Objectives, Motivation, Strategic Focal Point, Strengths, and Values).

      · Fosters an atmosphere of trust and integrity.

      · Train and mentor team members to help them develop their knowledge and skill level.

      · Maintains an even temperament in all situations, being patient with others.

      · Evaluates needs and drives improvements to maintenance processes to improve department functions.

      · Manage the workload of the team to execute the work planned for the shift while addressing equipment breakdowns. Ensure that team resources are properly utilized.

      · Ensures that their team remains productive and continually works to improve the performance of the production facility.

      · Awareness of productivity goals (KPI’s) and understands/executes what is necessary to achieve targeted results.

      · Possess the knowledge and skills to meet all of the expectations of a Maintenance Technician Level III.

      · Understands technical aspects of his/her area and transfers technical "know-how" to the team members.

      · Serve as a technical resource to their team.

      · Follow up on team member work with the customer to ensure that the equipment is functioning to expectations.

      · Proficient computer skills - SAP PM Module, Excel (including data analysis / charts).

      · Ensure that all Maintenance activity on their shift is completely and accurately recorded in SAP.

      · Initiate and Lead Root Cause Analysis events for significant equipment or process failures. Drive the RCA to completion of corrective actions.

      · Ensure that each team member completely and accurately fills out work orders for all work performed with accurate findings, troubleshooting steps and corrective actions taken.

      · Ensure that team members properly record any parts or materials that are removed from the MRO storeroom.

      · Ensure that a work order exists in the SAP system to address any known equipment deficiencies or sub-standard repairs.

      · Ensures TPM program requirements are followed by team members. (F-Tag process, etc.)

      · Complete the shift pass down log at the end of each shift to summarize the highlights of the shift activities.

      · Occasionally analyze, discuss, and solve complex maintenance problems with sub-contractors and suppliers to avoid supply shortages and factory shutdowns

      Your profile

      · Associate degree (Advance Manufacturing or similar field) – Required

      · 3-5 Years of Experience (Technical Manufacturing Environment) – Required

      · 0-2 Years of Experience (Leadership) – Preferred

      · Must have a good understanding of the factory and environmental safety.

      · Must have knowledge of machine controls.

      · Strong communication skills with internal associates and vendors.

      · Must be able to handle pressure, interruptions and meet deadlines.

      · Any of the above requirements/qualifications may be waived for the successful candidate.

      · Travel Percentage – 10%

      Your Pay & Benefits

      The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

      Benefits offered include the following:

The plan provides a fully vested 100% employer match on the first 4% of compensation contributed and also includes an annual employer-funded profit sharing contribution dependent on company profitability.

      · Two weeks of paid vacation for all non-temporary status new hires below Director level positions. Vacation entitlement increases based on years of service with BSH.

      · Unlimited paid vacation for all Director and above level positions.

      · The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line).

      · 40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).

      · 12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
