      Salary Band: $68,750.00 - $98,850.00 (salary band placement commensurate with experience)

      Job Description:

      The successful candidate will be a highly motivated professional, with a good understanding in developing and implementing patient-focused pharmacy services that improve outcomes for patients. You will be an integral member of the Pharmacy leadership team and be accountable to facilitate and implement processes to ensure patient safety and for the accuracy, quality, integrity and timeliness of product preparation and release. This individual will also have a focus on training and education of Pharmacy Technician staff and pharmacy technician students.

      You will be required to work at all THP sites and therefore periodic travel between sites may be necessary.

      This individual will primarily be working in the role Wednesday through Sunday, 7:30am – 3:30pm EST, with availability on Monday/Tuesday when not working weekend, based on operational needs.

      Key Qualifications:

      • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with Ontario College of Pharmacists
      • Minimum 5 years hospital experience or equivalent
      • Preceptor training with OCP is an asset
      • Experience with adult learning and development of education training and orientation programs
      • Demonstrated computer skills including EPIC and Microsoft programs
      • Strong interpersonal,organizational and mentorship skills
      • Knowledge of legislative guidelines
      • Extensive experience with unit dose distribution systems, CIVA, purchasing and inventory management, narcotic regulations, pre-packaging/manufacturing operating procedures
      • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and in providing exceptional patient centred care.
      • The ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment during periods of rapid change and transition

      Position Summary:

      • Develop and co-ordinate an education training program across all sites for Pharmacy Technicians & students (i.e.. Structured Practical Training (SPT) candidates, Pharmacy Technician programs, University co-op students, High school co-op students). Also includes orientation coordination, evaluation, and yearly training/certification requirements
      • Coordination of Pharmacy Technician preceptor for SPTs and placement students
      • Development of a future Pharmacy Technician Residency Program
      • Support and facilitate the integration of drug distribution and inventory systems across sites
      • Recruitment, coaching, training, monitoring and providing disciplinary action as required and co-ordinates daily activities, performance development and attendance management programs
      • Participates in performance appraisals for Pharmacy Technicians
      • Develop, implement, and measure quality improvement processes
      • Liaise with pharmacist and patient care areas to ensure quality and efficiency of service
      • Support a client focused environment
      • Develop policies and guidelines to promote appropriate drug distribution and control
      • Develop workflow procedures and applications to enhance productivity and cost containment
      • Participate on Medication Safety Committee along with review of all medication incidents and follow up with appropriate action
      • Complete scheduling, payroll and rounding of team
      • Other duties as assigned
