      About the Role

      As the team leader in our paper recycling facility, you will be a first-line manager adept at delivering results through teams of operators and/or technicians and ensuring team performance is maximised. This role will be based at our Unifibres function where a £34 million project has been launched involving installing new technologies and processes to improve environmental and energy efficiency.

      This role will be a working shift pattern of 12 hour, four on/ six off rotating pattern including two eighteen day rest periods in the summer time

      What You Will Do

      • Be responsible for front line leadership of your team to ensure optimum safety, Environmental compliance, quality, machine efficiency and performance through ensuring correct running standards.
      • Be able to deliver solutions to a wide range of daily production challenges.
      • Lead daily team meetings reviewing recent production and overseeing any issues that need addressing in line with Key Performance Indicators and production targets.
      • Manage the skill development of the crew – setting out and delivering on capability development plans focused on skills manufacturing. Your team is responsible for the first fix for issues, and thus it is key they have the skills and capabilities to deliver in this
      • Be responsible for regular 1:1 with your team, managing time and attendance and addressing any performance related issues.

      First and foremost, you will need to be able to demonstrate clear potential for being a successful leader. As a result, you will have the following attributes:

      • Effective and engaging communication and listening skills, so that you can get buy-in from various stakeholders
      • Able to challenge effectively and professionally
      • A key figure, in creating and maintaining best in class housekeeping standards
      • Effectively drive change as we transition into our new facility
      • Solid working knowledge of IT systems
      • A forward thinker, you thrive on resolving problems and can create and maintain an environment of learning and skill development in a busy production environment
      • You will be able to give constructive feedback in an engaging manner
      • Basic technical knowledge is desirable but not essential
