We are seeking to recruit a dynamic Team Leader to join the Wren Ward Team.

Wren is a 16-bedded elderly frail functional ward that offers a needs-led service across Hertfordshire for those who require assessment and treatment for their mental health.
-
The ward has a multi-disciplinary team including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, recreational workers, as well as the nursing and medical team.

- You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with excellent assessment and risk management skills who can embrace and drive change and innovation.
- We are looking for a skilled and intuitive communicator with experience in providing leadership. You will work directly with the Operational Manager and Clinical Matron, who will provide support, development, and direction alongside other leadership colleagues.
- You will know the importance of providing high-quality supervision and of working together with staff and the wider management team in providing supportive, effective, and coordinated leadership to the team to achieve the best possible outcomes for service users and carers.
- You will be required to work closely with our bed management and community services to ensure that service user flow is optimized through effective pre-discharge and discharge work and liaison.

- Degree with experience of post graduate level study or the equivalent experience
- ENB 998/Mentorship
- Evidence of management or leadership development
- NMC membership
- Teaching/training experience.
- Management of staff in a multiprofessional setting
- Minimum of three years post registration experience, two of which must be as a band 6
- Detailed awareness of issues in inpatient service areas - legislation, DoH guidance, NPSA, PLACE, CQC, NHSLA, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act including an understanding of standards
- Ability to provide clinical supervision, appraisal, preceptorship and staff support methods
- Knowledge in current developments in mental health, Dementia care, learning disabilities care
- Experience of working in other care settings
- Recognises and reflects on barriers to effective communication, modifying communication in response
- De-escalation in managing verbal aggression of disturbed service users
- Keeps accurate and complete records and communication consistent with legislation, policies and procedures
- Demonstrate good verbal presentation skills.
- Ability to chair meetings effectively
- Demonstrate good decision-making skills
- Flexible and responsive approach to care
- Knowledge and ability to positively manage change
