      Part - time - t his role is to work on site, within the core hours of 08.00 - 17.00

      The collaborative of Growing the Friarage & Community Services, is looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader who is looking for a challenge, with the potential to develop skills and knowledge and will support the collaborative in obtaining its goals of working through the recovery plan, created by the COVID pandemic and providing a high quality service to its patients. You will work very closely with the Admin Manager and other Team Leaders within the collaborative.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and supervisory skills and be able to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team taking a lead role in providing a comprehensive, effective and professional secretarial and administration support to the service. They will be responsible for ensuring the team deliver an effective and efficient service.

      The post holder will deputise for the Admin Manager in their absence and undertake aspects of a line management role for junior admin support.

      South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

      South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals.

      The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery and cancer services. It has 1,024 beds, a 24-hour acute admissions unit and an emergency department which houses the major trauma centre for Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and has its own helipad. In 2012 the Middlesbrough hospital completed a £35 million redevelopment of its cancer services and is now proud to provide some of the best facilities in Europe. The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.

      • GCSE in Maths and English or Functional Skills, Level 2
      • NVQ3 level Secretarial or Business Administrative qualification or equivalent level of demonstrable experience PLUS oMedical Terminology Qualification Level 2 or equivalent level or short courses or equivalent demonstrable working experience in accordance with the Trust's Medical Secretarial Development Framework

      Desirable

      • Audio-typing qualification or equivalent level of working experience with medical terminology

      Knowledge & Skills

      Essential

      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills
      • Substantial working knowledge of secretarial/clerical processes
      • Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations and patient confidentiality
      • Understanding of a range of work procedures associated with outpatient clinic arrangements, secretarial office procedures and case note procedures
