Job Description:
Summary
The Tech Lending Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the University Library’s Tech Lending service, which lends technology to ISU students, including laptops, tablets, cables, and cameras. Tech Lending supports approximately 18,000 equipment bookings annually and manages a collection of 1,200 devices, including laptops, tablets, AV equipment, and peripherals. This role establishes and documents workflows, processes, goals, and policies; develops procedures to improve operational efficiency and user experience; and maintains
current training materials for student staff. The coordinator supervises 15 student employees, managing scheduling, time approval, and performance reviews, and ensuring high-quality technical support and customer service. The Tech Lending desk operates 95 hours per week and requires consistent oversight and problem-solving.Technical responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving issues with Windows and macOS laptops, performing routine hardware maintenance and software installation, and ensuring all equipment is functional and updated. The coordinator also oversees the configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of approximately 30 public and staff printers, using printer management tools such as PaperCut. Additional duties include managing technology inventory and check-in/check-out systems, processing fines and fees, generating usage and service reports, conducting inventory audits, and coordinating the evaluation and acquisition of new technology.
The successful candidate will have a customer-service focus, be skilled in organization and time management, and possess the ability to interact effectively with library staff and the university community, work independently as well as collaboratively in a rapidly changing, team-based environment.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
