      Join us as a Senior QA Test Engineer. At Barclays, we don’t just embrace change we drive it. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for managing the QA function, defining test strategies, and implementing best practices to deliver high-quality software solutions.

      To be successful as a Senior QA Test Engineer, you should have experience with:

      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

      • Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, Jasmine, Insomnia) with experience in real-time testing environments involving Solace/IBM MQ and/or Kafka and GraphQL.

      • Considerable knowledge of Java and experience with Oracle Databases, Linux Environments

      • Experience with GitLab for CI/CD pipeline management and version control or equivalent.

      • Solid understanding of Agile Methodologies and the software development lifecycle and tools (e.g. Scrum, SAFE, JIRA, Confluence, XRay)

      Some other highly valued skills may include:

      • Demonstrated experience in performance and non-functional testing, including development of test harnesses and performance benchmarks

      • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

      • Ample communication, self-initiative and leadership abilities

      This role is located in Whippany, New Jersey.

      Purpose of the role

      To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

      Accountabilities

      • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
      • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
      • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
      • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
      • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
      • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
