Engage and contribute to new developments for the team and support embedding these changes
Work collaboratively with the team Team Leader to identify opportunities to build technical capability across the team then support delivery of any solutions
Identify technical needs/themes for an individual colleague with creation/delivery of technical development
Support the CCL to develop the technical strategy for their function
Use data gathered through audits / team leader coaching and control reports to identify systemic / thematic development requirements creating/implementing solutions as well as solid understanding of market developments and your technical knowledge is up to date for anything that may impact how we handle claims
Technically sound in understanding policy wording and exclusions, able to identify key fraud indicators and skilled to follow through on any exclusions resulting in repudiation
Technically sound in understanding damage severity, able to identify key indicators such as vehicle age to ensure the claim is correctly on the total loss journey
Technical referral point for all colleagues in the department, ensuring you are approachable and giving correct advice
Manage a timely and cost-effective settlement of a high value and complex personal case load and support the CCL to develop the technical strategy for their function
Feed in to recruitment efforts and support these where required to ensure we recruit for excellence
Previous claims experience
Decision maker, coaching and listening skills
Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail and positive attitude

Technical Claims Specialist
Location: Bexhill or Leicester
Role purpose:
As a Technical Claims Specialist, you would be responsible for of increasing the department's technical capacity. You are also the technical subject matter expert for business critical projects, training, and process design. It is critical that every encounter you and your team have with customers is of the highest standard. You'll establish a culture of service that motivates and enables your staff to consistently go above and beyond.
