      We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Technical Clerk to join our team and support our National Sales Agents.

      Role Overview: As a Technical Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting customers who are seeking quotes for Personal and Auto insurance. Through both inbound and outbound communication channels, you’ll assist clients in finding the best insurance solutions to meet their needs.

      What You’ll Do:

      Engage Customers: Be the friendly voice on the other end of the line, actively listening to customer inquiries and providing them with the opportunity to speak with a Sales Representative.

      The ideal candidate will have the following:

      • Strong Customer Service Background: Previous experience in a call center or customer service role is highly valued.
      • Persuasive Communication: Your ability to be convincing and empathetic will make a difference in helping customers connect with our Sales Representatives
      • Problem-Solving Skills: Navigate objections and find creative solutions to meet customer needs.
      • Team Player: Thrive in a collaborative environment, contributing to the overall success of the team.

      Work schedule: Mon - Fri 10 am - 7:30 pm CST.

      As a Technical Clerk, you'll perform technical and administrative support in accordance with standard procedures. You will maintain records, prepare reports, verify information and resolve common problems.

      Job Description

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Performs clerical duties requiring knowledge of general department/division and organizational practices and procedures.

      • Maintains records and checks data for control purposes. Compiles and distributes standard reports which may be technical in nature from a variety of sources within and outside of department.

      • Assists in answering telephones; takes messages and/or redirects calls; responds to routine questions; explains routine policies and procedures as necessary.

      • Trains new employees and serves as first contact for problems when required.

      • Assists in meeting room set-up and preparation, as requested.

      May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

      Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader. This is an individual contributor role.

      Typical Skills and Experiences:

      Education: High school, vocational or technical school studies.

      Experience: Two years in general office environment. Prefer one year of experience in a related function area.

      Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: General knowledge of office practices and procedures, basic mathematics and familiarity with office filing systems. Effective communication skills used for interaction with all levels of associates and/or external sources. Ability to set work priorities and recommend solution to general work-related issues. Ability to operate standard office equipment and build/maintain filing systems.

      Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

      Staffing Exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

      Overtime Eligibility: Eligible (Non Exempt)

      Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Frequent periods of sitting/using a personal computer. Light lifting for file storage. May be moving light meeting room furniture.

      Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.

      The national salary range for Technical Clerk : $42,315.00-$58,800.00

      The expected starting salary range for Technical Clerk : $42,315.00 - $47,400.00
