      The Technical Consultant (Senior) delivers complex technical solutions to clients - research, design, and support implementations by conducting diagnostics, troubleshooting, support and documentation of the technical deliverables. You work under limited direction within a clear framework of accountability, exercising substantial personal responsibility and autonomy. Consultants collaborate closely with the Team / Squad Leader for service delivery, project managers for project work allocation and the Squad Lead for skills development. Senior technical consultants work on various projects, mentoring and supporting mid-level and junior technical consultants, being an example to others.

      The Successful candidate will have the following:

      • Proven experience working with Splunk solutions for log management, SIEM, and security analytics.

      • Strong understanding of log analysis, security event correlation, and threat detection principles.

      • Demonstrate an elevated level of technical proficiency with Java and/or JEXL.

      • Can demonstrate an advanced level of working with AGILE and ITIL principles.

      • Can demonstrate high-level knowledge appropriate to the area of technical work and specialism.

      • Show a highly organised approach to work - plan, schedule and monitor own work, meeting quality targets.

      • Advanced level decision-making skills showing the use of appropriate tools, methods, and applications.

      • Elevated level of interpersonal and business communication skills - written and oral with internal and external stakeholders

      • Mentoring and support of junior employees to succeed in their technical deliverables.

      • Identify and organise development opportunities and apply new knowledge to self and others.

      • High level work independence whilst working within a team environment.

      • Experience in vendor and stakeholder engagement, often with diverse outcomes.

      • A sense of resilience, adaptability, and a sense of humour.

      An ideal candidate will have the following:

      • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related discipline

      • Administration level certifications, at a minimum in the area of specialism/s

      • AGILE and ITIL certifications

      • Thorough understanding of recognised generic infrastructure, SACM/ITSM, monitoring, automation, and reporting bodies of knowledge

      • Splunk Enterprise Certified Administrator (minimum)

      • Cloud certifications, Microsoft preferred

      The Technical Consultant position is based in Canberra.

      Candidates must be Australian Citizens and have a current NV1 clearance minimum to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain an Australian Government NV2 security clearance.
