      Employment Type: Full Time – Limited Term - Anticipated duration 6 months

      Salary Range: S2, Level 2, $50,784- $63,480 per year. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

      Technical Coordinator, Regulatory Applications – Hybrid

      The Opportunity

      Flex your strong organizational and customer service skills, combined with an ability to understand and provide support on multiple systems, as a Technical Coordinator in the Regulatory Applications branch. Your technical application support will play an integral role ensuring the flow of work and keeping the branch on track to meet critical timelines.

      As a member of the Regulatory Applications Support team, your work will include entering, registering, uploading, assigning, and providing quality control of regulatory applications, amendments, approvals, and their associated documentation, as well as answering inquiries and providing support to both internal and external users.

      What your day-to-day will look like:

      • Enter, register, assign, process, and disposition regulatory applications and audits using multiple Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) and Government of Alberta (GoA) systems.

      • Update and verify approvals, licences, and their associated documents using multiple software programs and an understanding of Government of Alberta Acts, Regulations, and Rules, Specified Enactments, and AER requirements and processes.

      • Provide first-level assistance for AER and GoA application systems, including but not limited to IAR, PNoA and OneStop.

      • Verify and compile submission of, upload, and follow up of industry reporting as required.

      • Troubleshoot and provide critical analysis and support for licence holders, applicants, and AER staff on multiple system related issues.

      • Research applications, approvals, and licences to respond to requests for information.

      • Perform data integrity checks for AER entered application systems as required.

      What we’re looking for in you:

      • Technical diploma in a science, geology, engineering, or a related field.

      • 3-5 years progressive experience in a regulatory environment including the use of software for recording, tracking, and analyzing information.

      • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.

      • Use of initiative to stay informed of business processes and other related initiatives across an organization.

      • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

      • Familiarity with various acts and rules related to oil & gas, pipelines, water, oil sands and/or coal is considered an asset.

      • Experience working with any or all of the following AER or GOA systems: ERKS, IAR, OneStop, COM, ABS, IBO, GIS, EMS, AppTracker, SRT, WATERS, WURS and ECM is considered an asset.
