      Profile overview:

      Executes the installation of a technical discipline at the installation site.
      An Engineer/technician providing technical advice, guidance and makes recommendations at the Project Site based on Siemens Gamesa’ procedures and drawings during assembly and installation of Wind Turbine Generators.

      TFA roles, responsibilities divided by activities. Please note, that this list represents the more important aspects of a successful TFA:

      The TFA should be present to verify and advise that activities are correctly performed by the contractor.

      Upon noticing significant crew turnover, either by Siemens Gamesa, the BOP, or the Client, a supplemental page turn will be performed for the affected crew and a review of the effected assembly on no fewer than 3 of the assembly unit involved.

      Roles & Responsibilities :

      • Executes installation works with predefined tasks:

      • Documents the installation according to the predefined steps.

      • May execute specialized tasks (e.g., welding).

      • May take predefined measurements and document them.

      Basic Core Competencies and Responsibilities:

      • Knowledge of basic electrical troubleshooting
      • Ability to maintain professional relationships with both client and BOP.
      • Daily log taking.

      Intimate knowledge of Siemens Gamesa specialty equipment:

      • Blade Yoke

      • Blade Clamper

      • Cabling Equipment

      • Specialty Rigging

      • Blade Belts/Socks

      • Temporary Installation Equipment

      • Crane

      • Turning Gear

      • Manual Yaw

      • Turbine Brakes

      TFA should be present for first ‘critical lifts’ for all components.

      Foundation

      • Ensure that the foundation is suitable for placement of tower

      • Shims are correctly placed.

      • Holes for conduit/cables are in correct location.

      • Foundation bolts are properly installed and treated.

      • Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Siemens Gamesa instructions and drawings.

      Setting of Power Unit

      • Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Siemens Gamesa instructions and drawings.

      • Ensure that the power unit is mounted, placed, and sealed correctly.

      Erection

      • Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Siemens Gamesa instructions and drawings.

      • TFA should be present for first ‘critical lifts’ for all components.

      • Troubleshoot 110Vac lights/outlets as necessary.

      • Ensure all Siemens Gamesa provided equipment is functioning properly (i.e. 690Vac generator).

      Mounting of Nacelle on Tower

      • Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Siemens Gamesa instructions and drawings.

      • TFA should be present for first ‘critical lifts’ for all components.

      Troubleshoot 110Vac lights/outlets as necessary.

      • Ensure that all temporary turbine systems are operating correctly.

      • Should be performed during nacelle preparation to identify and correct problems in a timely

      • manner.

      Rotor Assembly

      • Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Siemens Gamesa instructions and drawings.

      • TFA should be present for first ‘critical lifts’ for all components. Ensure all Siemens Gamesa provided equipment is functioning properly.

      • Pitch Pump

      • Pitch Box

      • 690Vac generator (if Siemens Gamesa supplied)

      Blade Yoke

      • Ensure blade tensioning is being performed correctly (in conjunction with QA rotor inspections).

      • Mounting of Rotor

      • Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Siemens Gamesa instructions and drawings.

      • TFA should be present for first ‘critical lifts’ for all components.

      • Troubleshoot 110Vac lights/outlets as necessary.

      • Ensure that all temporary turbine systems are operating correctly.

      Cabling

      • Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Siemens Gamesa instructions and drawings.

      • Troubleshoot 110Vac lights/outlets as necessary.

      • Ensure that all temporary turbine systems are operating correctly.

      • Ensure that crews have the appropriate electrical documentation, and know how to interpret them.

      Requirements

      • Ability to operate independently in remote locations, without direct supervision.

      • Ability to work at heights for extended periods of time.

      • Offloading at site

      • Assist QA in performing receiving inspections.

      • Organize and deliver BOLs (bills of lading) to the Site Manager

      • Assist in coordinating deliveries to specific pads.

      • Ensure that all activities are in accordance with Siemens Gamesa instructions and drawings.

      • Flexible travel schedule up to 100% travel.
