Job Description
- Req#: 17984
- *Develops curriculum working with subject matter experts to establish training requirements and/or competencies for various positions.
- *Teaches courses in accordance with approved curriculum to maintain proficiency and to evaluate and develop new instructional techniques/courses.
- *Works closely with management to ensure these training materials are effective, current, relevant and compatible with contract requirements.
- *Confers with management to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training of employees to better understand changes in procedures or processes.
- *Forecasts future training needs for the contract.
- *Manages training logistics, including scheduling, room set up and preparation and coordination of training materials.
- *Organizes data, information and documents related to training and enters training data into Learning Management System (LMS). May report training results out to various departments and outside agencies.
- *Collects and ensures employees working in various skilled trades professions and/or operating specific equipment have the proper current certifications and licenses on file (forklift certification, electrician licenses etc.)
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a comparable combination of formal education and work experience;
- Minimum of five year’s experience in Training;
- Knowledge of training in a business environment preferred;
- Advanced computer expertise including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software applications;
- Ability to create a variety of documents including presentations, participant handouts, spreadsheets and reports;
- Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
- Ability to be flexible in changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time;
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; maintains effective working relationships with other staff and clients;
- Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and common sense skills.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, the Technical Instructor/Course Developer is responsible for curriculum revision and maintenance. Employees in this job class organize and draft curriculum into subject blocks or units of instruction, create graphics and integrates them into the curriculum.
SUPERVISES: There may be direct reports associated with this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an office a majority of the time. The remainder of the work is performed in a shop/construction environment around tools and various equipment. Travel to various worksites and jobs is required.
