  Front-Office – Senior Risk Developer
  London

  As a Barclays Front Office – Senior Risk Developer you will be designing, maintaining and enhancing the Strategic Pricing Application (SPARX) and helping the Front office IT team deliver support to the Structured Equity Derivatives business users. You will be also working closely with the Trading and Structuring team to understand the requirements and implement them. You will be helping shape the future of how complex equity derivatives are being priced in Barclays as well.

  We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.
  
  What will you be doing?
  • Performing 80% development and 20% level 2 support
  • Developing high quality maintainable code for yourself and team
  • Making technical decisions that require a solid understanding of the problem domain
  • Collaborating and communicating globally with other developers and team leads to build technical solutions
  • Interacting with the Quality Assurance to investigate issues with pricing and other teams supporting the services being used by Strategic Pricing Application (SPARX)
  • Participating in architectural vision to build sustaining platform
  • Communicating with a global team for design and development of the pricing platform
  • Working closely with a development team in EMEA and interacting with the equivalent teams in the US and APAC
  
  What we’re looking for:
  • Experience of developing complex Excel based applications (VBA)
  • Experience building application with Python, C#, Java or other Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language
  • Experience of working within a front-office facing role, directly supporting business users
  • Experience of cross-region teams and projects
  
  Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Knowledge of Equity Derivatives/Structured products
  • Excel DNA technology
  • Functional programming experience
  
  Where will you be working?
  5 North Colonnade is home to our investment bank and is in the heart of Canary Wharf, just a short walk from our headquarters at Churchill Place.
