      Caterpillar is seeking a Technical Planning Manager in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will be at the heart of ensuring efficient logistics and timely delivery of parts, which is crucial for the smooth operation of the facility. Plu s, y ou will play a key role in the growth and building improvement planning for the Sanford campus.

      What you’ll do:

      • Process Improvements : Focus on enhancing efficiency and yield in Dock to Point of Use (POU) and reverse logistics . This involves streamlining processes to ensure smooth operations and better resource utilization .

      • Logistics Design : Develop processes, machinery, equipment, and storage solutions tailored to current production needs. This includes creating innovative storage concepts to optimize space and improve handling.

      • Problem-Solving : Be initiative-taking in identifying and resolving unexpected issues that could disrupt operations. This requires quick thinking and effective critical thinking skills .

      • Continuous Improvement : Implement ongoing improvements based on feedback from various departments such as Operations, Packaging, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, Scheduling, Safety, and Purchasing . This ensures that the processes remain efficient and meet customer needs.

      • 3D Design with Creo : Utilize Creo, a powerful 3D CAD software, to design machinery, equipment, and in returnable .

      A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills and have:

      • A working knowledge of Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to dialogue with internal customers such as on the assembly line or with the purchasing department.

      • A working knowledge of Technical Excellence : Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; to develop and integrate parts into the line at the POU.

      • A working knowledge of Design Thinking : Knowledge of concepts, principles, and experience in designing various ergonomic part presentation equipment such turn tables, platforms, and internable containers using 3D software,

      • A working knowledge in designing NPI projects along with other daily Continuous Improvement tasks.

      Top candidates will also bring:

      • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or above in Supply chain, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

      • A working knowledge in designing NPI projects along with other daily c ontinuous i mprovement tasks.

      • Experience using Creo or Solidwork s and Autocad (for part presentation layout).

      • Experience in d ata purification & analysis

      • Experience c reati ng and/or u pdating of Value Stream Maps and Standard Work Sheets Instruction (SWS )

      • Workforce & e quipment planning

      • Inventory transfer & r earrangement planning.

      • Resource & p roject management.

      • Supervisory experience

      Summary Pay Range:

      $87,480.00 - $131,280.00

      Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
