Technical Project Manager - Zero Emission Powertrain North America

- Lead a high-performing team of multiple full-time employees
- Lead and coordinate development and application of Zero-Emission Powertrain solutions for the North American truck market including Product Strategy, Product Planning, Project Execution, and Series Optimization
- Lead product planning activities for new Zero-Emission Vehicle initiatives including feasibility studies, development of concepts, review of technical product specifications, and determination of project targets
- Represent North American market requirements, targets, and interests (including technical, business, compliance, and local content requirements) in global product planning, projects, and committees as a standing member of the respective GPTs and GPCs
- Supervise analysis and tracking of project and series management deliverables against established targets including timing, budget, scope and resources, and present status to project steering committees and other decision making bodies
- Lead cross-functional groups and task forces to address identified deviations to established project or series management targets
- Interface with the global platform, module, and project teams in close collaboration with the Detroit Engineering and Platform teams for overall project planning, series optimization, and reporting
- Broaden expertise outside of immediate responsibilities and become an expert in zero-emission mobility
- 6+ years of related experience with a Master’s Degree OR 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree
- Degree focus in Engineering or related technical field; alternatively Business focus with high technical affinity
- 4+ years of leadership experience, either direct leadership or project team leadership
- 4+ years of experience leading and coordinating large scale, cross-functional, global product projects or comparable series management function
- Proven ability to build, maintain, and leverage a strong cross-functional and global network to achieve ambitious project targets
- Strong network into the powertrain organization in Europe or the vehicle organization in North America
- Proven ability to lead in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change and to set team targets and goals in a VUCA environment
- Proven record of being well organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks in parallel and work professionally with all levels of management
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills
- Experience creating storylines and content as well as presenting to top management
- Willingness to step far outside of one’s comfort zone and work on topics outside of one’s expertise and experience
- Knowledge of the Daimler Truck Commercial Vehicle Development System (CVDS) and DTNA Visual Management or similar systems
- Willingness and ability for moderate travel (20%) to other US States and Germany
- Language: English (business fluent)
- Knowledge of truck industry in North America including use cases and requirements
- Knowledge of DTNA products and Detroit zero-emission powertrain solutions
- Experience working with zero emission powertrain solutions, their current limitations and future perspective
- Strong network into the powertrain organization in Europe and the vehicle organization in North America
- Language: German (business fluent)
- Hold a valid existing Visa (L1A, L1B, L2, TN, H1B, H4 EAD, OPT EAD, CPT)
- Daimler Truck North America employees working under an existing U.S. Daimler Truck North America Visa
- Those eligible for a TN Visa (Canadian or Mexican National working in an Engineering, Accounting or Scientific Technologist capacity with an aligning degree)
- Those eligible for an L-1 (inter-company) Daimler Truck visa under the Corporate Blanket L-1 program would require at least one-year of qualifying experience in the last three years
- Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
- Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen

Inside the Role
Uses specific technical knowledge to plan, organize, and control resources, procedures, and timing for a technical process or project. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports, conducting risk analysis and monitoring the progress of plans against project milestones and budgets. Provides technical and analytical guidance to the project team. Ensures adherence to quality standards and review of project deliverables. Analyzes and documents requirements by liaising with a range of users in the organization. May manage the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.We Take Care of Our Team
Position offers a starting salary range of $133,500 - $171,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience
