      We are seeking a technical research assistant to help support laboratory operations. This is a great
      opportunity for anyone seeking to gain research experience prior to applying to graduate programs or
      medical school. Our research focuses on the characterization of signaling pathways that control the
      activity of the immune system, with the ultimate goal of identifying novel therapeutic targets and
      biomarkers for immune-mediated disorders. We work with the disease models of multiple sclerosis
      (EAE), glioblastoma, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. We are a highly collaborative,

      Description
      As a Research Technician, you will carry out experiments and protocols across many different
      molecular, cellular, and immunological techniques including working with mouse models. You will be
      working in a collaborative research environment at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital alongside
      graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. You will work as part of a team as well as on independent
      projects, and present data at lab meeting. This position will involve approximately 30% of time spent
      on lab managerial duties, including mouse colony husbandry.

      Typical duties:

      Designs and carries out immunological, molecular biology and cell biology experiments
      • Tissue culture

      • Flow cytometry

      • DNA/RNA isolation

      • qPCR

      • Orders and maintains reagents,
      solutions, and supplies

      • Contributes to larger experiments as part of a team

      • Analyzes experimental data

      • Maintains high quality notebooks documenting experimental procedures and results

      • Attends lab meetings

      • Communicates results and contributes to project and experiment planning
