      The Technical Service Engineer provides training and technical support for our Drilling Solutions products and services. In this role, you will have the opportunity to share your technical expertise and problem-solving skills in such a manner that it will result in improved customer satisfaction and efficiency. This role will require the Specialist to include real-time problem-solving of systems malfunctions and design challenges that occur when a specific application challenges the engineering design envelope.

      The work environment in the mining and construction industries has unique and interesting challenges one won't find in other professions. It is all-encompassing, anywhere from office attire one day to working in a rough and rugged environment another day in some of the most beautiful and pristine areas of the world. This position is considered safety sensitive and in all situations, an emphasis on personal health and safety must be maintained.

      POSITION OBJECTIVE

      This position is responsible for the resolution of technical issues and technical training for the Epiroc Drilling Solutions Product through close cooperation with all stakeholders including, the Epiroc Drilling Solutions Product Company, Customer Centers, Dealers, and end users. Provide high-quality communication, technical support, and training material for the related products.

      PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Provide technical support to external customers.

      • Communicate with engineering as well as vendors to resolve quality issues.

      • Prepare Training material on the repair and maintenance of all Epiroc Drilling Solutions products. The focus of the training will be on internal Customer center personnel and customers.

      • Take an active role in new product development working closely with the engineering group to ensure you are fully conversant with all facets of the machine's function, maintenance, and operation.

      • Provide rig commissioning and training ensuring that the supporting Customer Center has the necessary knowledge and skill to provide ongoing world-class support.

      • Actively track the performance of new products ensuring quality feedback provided to engineering including but not limited to, lower-than-expected component life, opportunities to improve design, and structural areas that need improvement.

      • Communicate all relevant product technical service issues within the service and engineering group.

      • Prepare necessary information as requested whether routine or for special occasions.

      • Always be courteous and professional in all communications.

      • Extensive travel requirement for extended periods of up to 2-4 weeks to support new product deliveries worldwide.

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

      • BS Engineering (Mechanical) or the equivalent relevant work experience.

      • Experience in troubleshooting Hydraulic, low voltage electrics, air systems, and RCS systems ·

      • An understanding of computers and associated systems (MS Office, Excel, Word, etc.) ·

      • High-voltage electrical experience is advantageous but not essential

      • Strong technical service experience, 5-10 years.
