      Position at JBS USA

      Job Title: Technical Services Director - Plant

      Location: Omaha, NE

      Provide expert leadership in overseeing all Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory programs to achieve the organization’s highest food safety and quality standards and to meet USDA and customer requirements.

      Duties and Responsibilities :

      • Expertise in HACCP, beef product specifications, GMP, SSOP, Export procedures, product labeling and regulatory requirements.
      • Lead, mentor and evaluate plant Food Safety/Regulatory and Quality Assurance personnel for harvesting, fabrication, ground beef and case ready operations.
      • Lead, mentor and evaluate plant Sanitation personnel.
      • Implement programs and procedures to effectively evaluate, monitor and trend product safety, regulatory compliance, and quality.
      • Liaison between Plant Management, Customers, and the facility’s USDA personnel on Food Safety, Animal Welfare, Quality Assurance, Export and Labeling topics.
      • Implement corrective actions and special projects to achieve Food Safety, Regulatory, and Quality Assurance objectives.
      • Assist the plant to achieve Food Safety and Quality objectives.
      • Manage special projects as assigned by Corporate Technical Services.
      • Strive for continuous improvement in the facility Food Safety, Animal Welfare, Regulatory, and Quality Assurance programs and processes.
      • Solid understanding of process control and execution of procedures to achieve the overall end result of safe, quality products for our customers and consumers.
      • Manage and lead the facility Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory department.
      • Any other duties as assigned for implementing and executing the highest standards for food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

      Experience and Requirements :

      • Bachelor of Science degree in Animal, Meat, Food Science, or Agricultural Engineering preferred.
      • Minimum of five years of Quality Assurance management experience preferred.
      • Thorough knowledge of food safety and regulatory standards, product specifications, Animal Handling, GMP’s, SSOP’s, Export procedures and regulatory requirements.
      • Basic understanding of Quality Assurance, Food Microbiology, Plant Sanitation, Process Control and Food Safety.
      • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office programs.
      • Excellent problem analysis and solving skills.
      • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
