      Major Responsibilities

      • Assists in site inspections and surveys. Takes photos. Delivers notices. Records data.
      • Assists with marking and measuring.
      • Assists with collecting, organizing and presenting of information/field notes/sketches/reports from field investigations and site visits.
      • Enters data on various systems.
      • Assists with maintaining equipment.
      • Assists in performing technical tests.
      • Assists with collecting samples for others to analyze.
      • Assists with indexing, searching, retrieving and filing of records.
      • Answers inquiries, provides general information, takes messages and directs inquiries to appropriate staff to answer questions/handle requests.
      • Travels to various locations.

      Key Qualifications:

      Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:

      1. Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of any post-secondary program and/or any equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
      2. Experience with computer applications skills including Microsoft Office Suite, (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook).
      3. Experience in providing customer service to a broad range of stakeholders.
      4. Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a City driver's permit.

      You Must Also Have:

      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with staff and clients in an efficient and diplomatic manner, both in-person, over the phone and via email.
      • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills and ability to de-escalate stressful situations in an efficient manner.
      • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
      • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
      • Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
      • Ability to provide excellent customer service when dealing with the pubic.
      • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime as required.
      • Ability to work in an outdoor environment which can include extreme weather conditions.
      • Ability to travel to other City work locations as required.
