      KZN Sands Operations located in Empangeni & Mtunzini


      Position Overview

      To undergo an intensive learning programme that will result in completion of P1 and P2. These are temporary positions for a period of 12 months. Tronox KZN Sands is looking for dynamic, self-motivated individuals with the necessary ability and the intention to enter a Work Integrated Learning programme for the following disciplines:

      • P1/P2 Metallurgical Engineering
      • P1/P2 Chemical Engineering

      The successful candidate will be expected to:

      Program outcome

      • Meet requirements as per the in-service-training and developmental program and agreement.
      • Personal commitment to study and work towards achievement of success indicators of developmental program.

      SHEQ

      • Ensure and maintain a healthy environment, safe operations and practices.
      • Comply with SHEQ and technical requirements in line with Plant availability and performance targets. Monitor, identify and respond to defects and / or sub-standard equipment performance and other improvement opportunities.

      Maintenance Control

      • Perform required tasks and activities according to specification at the Production/ Maintenance/ Engineering Department.
      • Control and oversee quality of work.
      • Perform basic maintenance tasks and maintain housekeeping to high standard.
      • Monitor process, conduct inspections and rectify substandard performance / conditions

      Process Efficiency

      • Adhere to planned production / maintenance schedules and key performance indicators.
      • Ensure the optimal use of available resources, both people and equipment.

      Technical support

      • Support Supervisor, coworkers and maintenance personnel in execution of work.
      • Communicate effectively with line Supervisors and related plant personnel.

      Who can apply?

      • Bachelor's Degree with seven years of equivalent work experience
      • Complete S4 in above mentioned discipline (Compulsory)
      • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (Compulsory)
      • Valid Driver’s License (Compulsory)
      • Any Candidate currently registered with any SETA for learning programme are disqualified.

      • Certified copy of your Identity Document (not older than 3 months)
      • Proof of Residence (Letter from Tribal Authority)
      • Certified copy of Valid Driver’s License (not older than 3 months)
      • Proof of Registration/Letter from the Institution Stating that you are registered for P1/P2

      NOTE:

      • Closing date is Thursday, 28th December 2023
      • Pre-screening evaluation will form part of the selection process.

      • Psychometric evaluations may form part of the selection process.
