      A Day in the Life

      As a Technician IV, Service Operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of the Global Robotics Service & Support (GRSS) team. You will be at the forefront of supporting Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS) systems, applying your technical expertise to maintain high standards of performance and reliability.

      In this role, you will:

      • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Diagnose and resolve technical challenges related to robotic systems, components, and assemblies to minimize downtime and ensure operational excellence.
      • Manage Escalations: Serve as a critical point of contact for technical escalations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement timely solutions.
      • Perform Complaint Analysis: Analyze product complaints and failure modes to identify trends, improve system performance, and support ongoing quality initiatives.
      • Conduct System Inspections: Perform detailed performance inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment meets operational and safety standards.
      • Contribute to Lab Operations: Assist with crating/uncrating high-level assemblies, spare parts, and other lab activities to support the team's objectives.
      • Drive Innovation: Provide insights and recommendations to enhance service operations, leveraging your expertise to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
      • Technical mentoring: Provide guidance on best practices for day-to-day activities.

      This dynamic role will allow you to engage with cutting-edge surgical robotic technology while contributing to the success of a global team focused on improving patient care.

      Location: North Haven, CT

      Ability to travel: 0 to 10% (Domestic and International)

      You will:

      Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

      • Perform a variety of tasks in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical domains.
      • Test, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, and maintain equipment, components, devices, and systems.
      • Interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and verbal or written instructions to complete assignments.
      • Operate relevant equipment, conduct tests, and report data in prescribed formats.
      • Perform calibration, alignment checks, and part replacements as directed.
      • Manage return inventory, including movement, triage, failure analysis preparation, and location tracking.
      • Support lab operations, such as crating/uncrating high-level assemblies and spare parts.
      • Collaborate with fellow technicians on investigations requiring additional support.
      • Able to lift 50 lbs.
      • Replicate failures described in reports.
      • Ability to give feedback on work instructions and draft guidance.
      • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the returns process and collaborate with relevant teams to implement changes.

      Must Have: Minimum Qualifications

      • 8+ years of relevant experience, which may require vocational or technical education or certification, in addition to prior work experience.

      Nice to Have:

      • Experience working in a highly regulated environment
      • Experience with surgical robotic systems.
      • Background in field or depot service operations.
      • Proficiency with SAP Service Module.
      • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
      • Experience working in a matrixed environment.

      Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$68,800.00 - $103,200.00

      This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

      The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

      The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
