      Institutional Shareholder Services is growing! ISS seeks a Techno-Functional Business Analyst to join our Data Team in Mumbai, India.

      Overview:

      Data Management team is responsible for ensuring accuracy, completeness and reliability of master and reference data about indexes, companies, funds, financial instruments, ownership, financial statements and ratios, and market price and performance. It develops approaches, logic, methodology and business requirements for acquiring, validating, normalizing, transforming, modeling, integrating, cross-referencing and distributing data. The data is used in our client-facing data platforms, analytics tools and research offerings. The team also develops database testing strategy, scenarios and automated test frameworks. It performs database testing, defines data quality rules, monitors and resolves data quality issues and maintains metadata, user guides and relevant techno-functional documents.

      Responsibilities:

      • Develop and maintain deep understanding of reference and master data sets, vendor data, and underlying data architecture, processes, methodology, and systems

      • Provide thought leadership and expertise in one or two functional domains E.g. financial statements, ratios and accounting standards, SEC filings, legal entity and financial instruments, funds etc.

      • Convert business requirements into logical solution through qualitative and quantitative data analysis and prototyping

      • Produce detailed functional and technical specification documents for development and testing

      • Develop automated test frameworks to test source to target mapping, data load and extract process, data pre-processing, transformation, aggregation, different logics, integration from various sources and data distribution

      • Analyze complex production issues for intermediate tactical solution as well as for designing robust permanent one

      • Collaborate with business and development teams through stages of SDLC

      • Mentor junior/new colleagues and ensure they succeed in the role

      • Effectively multi-task, schedule and prioritize deliverables to meet project timelines

      • Promote an environment that fosters commitment to rigor, operational excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering/Stats/Maths/Physics/Econometrics or an MCA

      • A Post-graduate program in Finance/Capital markets/Financial Economics or CFA level 1 or higher

      • Demonstrated ability to perform exploratory data analysis, visual analytics and data I/O with higher level of proficiency in Python/R and SQL

      • 6 to 7 years of hands-on experience of working with capital markets data at scale and/or design and testing of data systems and/or data management practice

      Good to have:

      • Certifications/courses in Microsoft SQL, Python/R programming, data analytics or capital markets.
