      About this role:

      Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director (Wholesale Operations, Market & Investment) as part of the Wholesale Operations Technology (WOT) Organization within the Technology for the Office of the Chief Operating Officer (TCOO). This role will be accountable for the technology strategy and execution of the Corporate & Investment Banking Operations (CIB) book of work. Working closely with the CIB Operations Leads this role will be the key leader in defining the ongoing technology modernization strategy. This leader will work with peers across LOBs to ensure execution plans include a comprehensive end to end solution. This role will also have the added responsibility of managing the relationship with the Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) Operations leader. Together with the WIM operations leader this role will work to understand the similarities between the two organizations and identify opportunities for integration/consolation.

      This role provides the right leader with the chance to be involved in a complete back-office modernization strategy across all of Wells Fargo Operations. In addition to day-to-day activity with their team and CIB operations leaders, this individual will be a key contributor into numerous other strategic imperatives being addressed such as cloud adoption, API first strategy, and identification of shared services for scale to name a few.

      In this role, you will:

      • Oversees the Broadridge relationship, global transaction reporting, and all other backend processing systems

      • Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads

      • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities

      • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders

      • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans

      • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices

      • Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers

      • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing

      • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives

      • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent

      • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation

      • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers

      • Lead team to achieve objectives

      • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums

      • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership

      • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


      Required Qualifications:

      • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

      • 4+ years of Management experience

      • 7+ years of Financial services experience in Wholesale Operations


      Desired Qualifications:

      • Strong practical business acumen in Corporate and Investment Banking

      • Good business acumen in Wealth & Investment Management

      • Experienced in back-office transformation

      • Practical hands-on cloud experience

      • Good understanding of data architecture

      • Vendor management experience with large end niche vendors

      • Experience with Intelligent automation and AI/ML

      • Excellent communication skills

      • Ability to work across many teams and time zones
