      Join us for a 14-month rotational program starting in July 202 4 designed to jumpstart your CarMax career. Through this program, you will:

      • Attend a CarMax Bootcamp where you’ll :

      • Learn about CarMax and the technologies and tools used to support our business

      • Build your professional network by meeting and connecting with Technology leadership and associates across different enterprise departments

      • Experience two 6-month rotations within our engineering teams where you will:

      • Get exposure and hands-on experience with various programming languages, new technologies , platforms , and tools

      • Gain a solid understanding of CarMax Technology and how your contributions will have a direct and significant impact on the organization’s ongoing success

      • Gain valuable experiences working on real projects providing real impact to our product and data engineering teams

      WHAT WE ARE HIRING FOR

      We're looking for candidates who bring fresh ideas and a wide array of experiences to the team to bring us to New Destinations in many areas, including API development , large-scale system design, artificial intelligence, data engineering, cloud architecture, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile. Together we deliver iconic experiences through innovative technology and relentless execution.

      WHAT TO EXPECT:

      • A focus on d esign ing , develop ing , test ing , deploy ing , maintain ing , and improv ing software for both our customers and our associates

      • Immersion in a fast paced, dynamic Agile environment where innovation and collaboration are keys to our success

      • Participation in business customer meetings, design sessions, and presentations to Senior Technology Leaders

      • Contribution to products/projects that enable the success of our associates

      • Fun social events and volunteer opportunities with other new hi res

      QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science , Decision Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field; or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required .
      • 0-2 years of relevant work experience

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Basic knowledge of programming languages/platforms

      • Basic knowledge of relational databases such as MS and SQL server are preferred.

      • Basic Knowledge of API design and integration is preferred.

      • Ability and desire to collaborate to solve original, wide-ranging, and open-ended business and technical problems

      • An interest in continuous learning and engagement

      • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
