      Overview

      As the Senior Database Administrator, you will work as a member of the Information Technology (IT) department and provides second level production services and end level technologies to different clients and business lines across Deutsche Bank. You will work as the point of contact and the escalation point for members of the Business and ensure effective restoration of product services by taking control of and managing each incident. In this role, you will interact directly with several different populations. The Senior Database Administrator will liaise directly with IT Application Owners and Chief Investment Officers (CIO), IT infrastructure groups, Operations, and key business stakeholders.

      What You’ll Do .

      • Manage global database monitoring tool, Oracle enterprise manager

      • Engage in Incident, change and Problem management tickets, finding detailed Regulatory Compliance Association (RCA)

      • Work closely with engineering team on new solution and certifications

      • Working on bank’s Sybase and Structured Query Language (SQL) server database estate

      • Interact with application teams and provide them with solution they are expecting

      • Participate in disaster recovery activities, Expert level knowledge production database recovery and tuning

      Skills You’ll Need

      • Extensive experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) and an expert in Performance Tuning, Query & Index Tuning, Query Optimization, as well as in Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Database mirroring, replication and other HA technologies

      • High level of competency in relational databases (SQL/Powershell scripting and modelling) with good understanding of SQLServer Internals and MS SQL Database physical designing

      • Solid experience in Disaster Recovery, working with the development teams in the data modelling and database design of product and efficient SQL for fast application performance, in SSIS, SSRS/ PowerBI, SSAS, and Powershell Automation, capacity Planning (Backup Share, Disk, CPU and Memory) , Database enhanced configuration/improvements, sybase internal schema tables, health checks, etc., Azure or AWS cloud environment would be an advantage, Configure, manage, and administer Sybase ASE and Replication server, and prior experience in financial Industry

      • In depth understanding in Design, develop, maintain & patch databases in Sybase ASE version 12.5, 15.5, 15.7, 16.x, and for troubleshooting of ASE and replication server

      • Expertise in high availability and disaster recovery with mirroring, replication, log shipping, always on and clustering, as well as in writing UNIX shell and perl and Python scripts

      • Proficiency in English language, with excellent written and verbal skills

      • Able to learn quickly and apply common sense to new situations, but understand when it is appropriate to engage others for advice, as well as to be proactive and take ownership to bring task to conclusion to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and team in a rapidly changing environment

      • Open and transparent in style and approach when working with others

      • Strong project management and personal organization skills

      Expectations

      It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

      The salary range for this position in Jacksonville, FL is $78,000 to $111,800. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
