      Job Summary:

      The Technology Support Technician III leads Inland’s day-to-day direct IT support activities while maintaining the security and integrity of the company’s business data. This position will work in teams with other IT staff, internal and external customers and employees to troubleshoot and resolve technology related issues. In addition, the Technology Support Technician III will provide on-site and remote desktop support concerning IT related requests. This position will train and provide basic and advanced administration on desktop and server applications, Macintosh computer systems, and infrastructure.

      Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Leads and provides first-line support of user requests including recording, resolution and escalation of requests.
      • Specifies, configures and maintains fleet of desktop and mobile user devices. Includes Windows and Macintosh computers as well as Windows, IOS and Android mobile devices.
      • Creates documentation and standards, troubleshoots and assists end users with the following:
        • PC hardware and software configuration, installation, and support services with multiple operating systems and applications
        • Software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, packaging and deployments methods
        • Smartphone, Tablet, and PC hardware and software support
        • Common sources of operator error, software malfunctions and error messages
      • Diagnoses software and hardware related issues via phone, email, or face to face.
      • Assists with administration and troubleshooting of network, server and cloud infrastructure.
      • Leads and performs system duties, including user creation, security permissions, performance monitoring, data backups, etc.
      • Creates, maintains and follows documentation and Standard Operating Procedures regarding new and existing software and hardware.
      • Oversees, creates and updates help desk tickets and application specific tasks as required.
      • Maintains structured cabling infrastructure including pulling new and rerouted cable runs.
      • Stays current within the technology, printing and distribution industries.
      • Contributes to ongoing improvement of company’s business and quality processes.

      Essential skills and experience:

      • Associates degree in an IT related field and/or equivalent work experience
      • Strong problem-solving skills
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • 5 years or more experience and proficiency in remote desktop support, LAN administrative duties, Microsoft and Macintosh based hardware/applications and related operating systems and technologies.
      • Ability to develop productive relationships and communicate effectively with management, peers, plant personnel, suppliers and customers
      • Ability to troubleshoot with a creative and innovative thought process
      • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record

      Nonessential skills and experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or a related field

      Work Environment:

      • Operates in a demanding, fast-paced, people-oriented manufacturing environment with frequent changes and interruptions, and multiple project assignments
      • Works with a variety of people including vendors, customers, employees, team members, and managers

      Required Work Schedule:

      • Typically works standard business hours
      • Periodic on-call support outside of standard business hours
      • Must be flexible for occasional meetings and responsibilities outside of standard business hours including weekends
      • Occasional travel and overnight trips are required

      Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to walk, sit, bend, stoop, push, pull and stand; lift 20 pounds
      • 20/40 corrected vision
      • No unusual physical requirements are necessary
