- Monitor appropriate use of County facilities by County and non-County groups. Enforce rules of conduct when appropriate.
- Lock and unlock County facilities for County activities and outside group reservations as scheduled by Recreation staff.
- Collect admission fees for County events that require on-site admission fees, reconcile fees collected to sign-in sheets. Deliver collected revenue and sign-in sheets to Recreation office or use alternate arrangements as directed.
- Instruct reservation groups in the set-up and clean-up of County and non-County facilities as necessary or Lead and/or assist in the set-up and clean-up of County activities in County and non-County facilities as assigned.
- Represent King County Parks in a professional manner to scheduled and drop-in user groups.
- Communication skills and ability to work effectively with the public and co-workers.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to relay pertinent concerns or problems regarding events or programs to supervisor by filling out a facility use evaluation form.
- Ability to deal with emergency situations that may arise.
- Customer service experience.

- Communicates Effectively – Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

- Maintenance of current CPR and First Aid certifications. If necessary, help will be provided to obtain the certifications in compliance with state and local regulations.

- Work Location : Steve Cox Memorial Park, 1321 SW 102nd St, Seattle, WA 98146 and at West Hill Community Center, 12400 80th Ave S, Renton, WA 98178 (on the Dimmitt Middle School Campus).
- Work Schedule: The work schedule for this position is somewhat flexible and can vary based on events. The Facility Coordinator will work approximately 6-15 hours per week. Available shifts include Saturday through Friday and are typically 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. There may be additional hours outside of this time to support rented spaces and events. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.

- Ability to working outdoors in all types of weather as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May require lifting, bending, reaching, sitting for long periods of time.

Are you passionate about providing recreational opportunity to community members in White Center and Skyway? The King County Parks’ Teen Program is seeking enthusiastic, positive individuals to join our team as Facility Coordinators. In this role, you’ll support recreational activities and programs for both scheduled and drop-in user groups at Steve Cox Memorial Park and West Hill Community Center. As a Facility Coordinator, your work will play a key role in expanding access to programs and services for our park patrons-helping enhance community well-being and quality of life. This is a great opportunity to be on the front lines of public service, making a direct impact in underserved communities in King County.
This posting may be used to establish a list of qualified candidates for the Facility Coordinator in the Parks Division during the following six months.
About the Role:
We are seeking Facility Coordinators to assist with monitoring the appropriate use of the athletic fields and indoor gym at Steve Cox Memorial Park as well as the indoor space at the West Hill Community Center during scheduled use. Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors and in inclement weather.
