- Compensation: $17.00 per hour
Location: Fort Boise Community Center (700 Robbins Rd, Boise, ID 83702), South Junior High, or Hillside Junior High. Final placement will be determined at the time of hire.
Duration: August 2025 – May 2026 (full academic year commitment preferred)
- Lead or assist with orientations and training for Boise State service-learning students and community volunteers.
- Schedule and track student and volunteer service hours.
- Address questions, concerns, and support needs for students and volunteers at the site.
- Facilitate reflection activities to help students connect their service to academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate with faculty and the Service-Learning Program to design impactful service experiences.
- Communicate effectively with students, university faculty, and the Boise State Service-Learning Program.
- Coordinate logistics (scheduling, communication, volunteer management) across all stakeholders.
- Assist with academic enrichment and support programs offered through Teen City.
- Help identify and implement solutions that meet the needs of program participants and their families.
- Contribute to long-term capacity-building efforts at the program site.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.
- Certification or demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the specific camp discipline/activity.
- Ability to: deal with individuals in a friendly and tactful manner; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Two years of experience working with youth from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Certified in First Aid and CPR.
Valid state-issued driver's license.

In this afterschool/camp setting, you will you will help plan various educational, indoor, and outdoor recreational activities, and supervise and instruct support staff, such as Teen Outreach Leaders and Boise State Service Learners. Applicants must be 19 years of age or older.

Physical Efforts
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds and occasionally lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Also, the employee is frequently pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds and occasionally pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds. The noise level is frequently moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, climb and balance. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
Working Environment
The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures and in wet and humid conditions. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position. Work includes protected exposure to bodily fluids. hiking on and off trails, terrain can be moderately rugged.
This position works: work varied hours including evenings and weekends depending on camp times.About the company
