This position(s) primary purpose is to support the technical expert in systems design, engineering, optimization, and modifications for large and diverse inventory of highly specialized state-of-the-art electronics, video, photographic, fixed, and mobile tracking, analog, and digital telecommunications.Duties

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) for the Telecommunications Series, 0391, in addition to the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
Basic Requirement Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis.
OR
Specialized Experience: Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.
AND
You may qualify at the GS-09 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement :
I have one year of experience (equivalent to at least the GS-07 level or pay band in the Federal service) that includes performing the following duties: 1) Assisting in applying sensitive state-of-the art telecommunications equipment, applications, and computer systems that are used to track, monitor, and intercept radio and digital data signals for active surveillance; 2) Assisting in Configuring, installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment; 3) Assisting in the planning and coordinating technical operations requiring covert tactics and strategies to maintain anonymity during criminal investigations.
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement :
I have one year of experience (equivalent to at least the GS-09 level or pay band in the Federal service) that includes performing the following duties: 1) Using and applying sensitive state-of-the art telecommunications equipment, applications, and computer systems that are used to track, monitor, and intercept radio and digital data signals for active surveillance; 2) Configuring, installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment; 3) Planning and coordinating technical operations requiring covert tactics and strategies to maintain anonymity during criminal investigations; and, 4) Evaluating new or prototype telecommunication systems, computer applications, or other technologies before utilizing them into agency operations.
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical: The work requires some physical exertion such as moving telecommunications equipment, devices, and technologies to locations, infrastructure, or other designated area outside of a normal office environment. This work occurs during field operations where the incumbent may be required install telecommunications equipment in places that require climbing stairs, crouching or entering small closed-in spaces for extended period of time to maintain, acquire, scan, and monitor both radio frequencies or digital signals.About the company
