  • Essential Job Accountabilities:

    • 
      Job Summary:

      • The Operator r esponds to and transfers calls accurately and promptly to appropriate locations; assists with the placement of out-going and interdepartmental calls; contacts staff and physicians via pager, telephone and/or overhead paging system. The operator responds to clinical, environmental and other system alarms then activates emergency codes and procedures in the prescribed manner . Accurately enters work orders for telecommunication devices.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
      • • Answers incoming calls on the switchboard in a quality manner and uses approved scripts.
        • Connects and transfers calls accurately to the appropriate locations.
        • Escalates telecommunication and system outages to appropriate third party vendors.
        • Responds to clinical, environmental and system alarms to activate emergency codes and procedures in the prescribed manner.
        • Responds to telephone calls, telecom tickets and alarms rapidly and accurately.
        • Is familiar with the On Call schedule for hospital administration, departments, and the physicians to accurately make changes.
        • Knowledgeable with the ARC and Patient Locator system.
        • Utilizes software for answering calls (Finesse).
        • Routinely adjusts to changing shift schedules.
    • 
      Education, Experience, Qualifications:
      • • Minimum of High School or GED required.
        • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a related field preferred.
