Essential Job Accountabilities:

Job Summary:-
The Operator r esponds to and transfers calls accurately and promptly to appropriate locations; assists with the placement of out-going and interdepartmental calls; contacts staff and physicians via pager, telephone and/or overhead paging system. The operator responds to clinical, environmental and other system alarms then activates emergency codes and procedures in the prescribed manner . Accurately enters work orders for telecommunication devices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
- Answers incoming calls on the switchboard in a quality manner and uses approved scripts.
- Connects and transfers calls accurately to the appropriate locations.
- Escalates telecommunication and system outages to appropriate third party vendors.
- Responds to clinical, environmental and system alarms to activate emergency codes and procedures in the prescribed manner.
- Responds to telephone calls, telecom tickets and alarms rapidly and accurately.
- Is familiar with the On Call schedule for hospital administration, departments, and the physicians to accurately make changes.
- Knowledgeable with the ARC and Patient Locator system.
- Utilizes software for answering calls (Finesse).
- Routinely adjusts to changing shift schedules.

Education, Experience, Qualifications:-
- Minimum of High School or GED required.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a related field preferred.
