Job Description
- Req#: 24002043
- Responsible for ensuring all existing stores within a region are properly licensed to operate by completing the permitting process with each jurisdiction.
- Manage the store license profile in Avalara License Management database, updating license information and documents.
- Ensure all licenses are properly scanned, indexed and uploaded into licensing software.
- Correspond with state, county, and local agencies to ensure proper compliance with license and permit requirements. Resolves any issues.
- Work with Accounts Payable and Treasury to track outstanding payments.
- Ensure that closed store licenses are inactive with all agencies.
- Ensure timely mailing of renewal checks, forms, and licenses, including completing business forms.
- Ensure timely mailing of scanned licenses and permits.
- Including handling return mail from postal services.
- Process incoming mail, distributing it to appropriate sub-departments.
- Work on projects or other activities as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with coursework in Accounting/Tax preferred.
- Minimum one year of related experience in accounting/tax experience, preferably in a retail/hospitality environment
- Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
- Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
Summary of Job Description:
The Tax & License Associate is responsible for ensuring all new and existing stores are properly licensed to operate by completing the business license/permit process for all store locations and updating the store license profile in the license database (Avalara License Management). This position actively interacts with many departments as a main liaison that oversees compliance with state and local jurisdictions.
