      About the Team

      The AP Curriculum and Assessment (C&A) Team at College Board ( 70 + staff) collaborates with colleagues across all aspects of the AP Program to develop, manage, and deliver AP’s 40+ courses in a wide variety of subject areas. AP® is a rigorous academic program built on the commitment, passion, and hard work of students and educators from secondary schools and higher education. AP provides willing and academically prepared high school students with the opportunity to study and learn at the college level.

      About the Opportunity

      This opportunity offers a dynamic and impactful role, supporting the AP African American Studies Access team in fostering educational equity and expanding access to this vital program. As a key contributor, you will manage a variety of essential tasks, from coordinating classroom visits and school events to handling logistical details and supporting external partnerships. Your organizational skills will ensure the smooth execution of communications, scheduling, and event planning, including managing travel and reimbursements. This position is ideal for someone passionate about education and dedicated to supporting initiatives that empower students and communities. By collaborating with senior leaders, consultants, and external partners, your contributions will help drive the success of the AP African American Studies program and its outreach efforts.

      In this role, you will:

      Event and Logistical Coordination (40%)

      • Manage AP African American Studies Classroom Visit program, including cross-divisional requests for visits, schedules, and coordination with school staff on the logistical details.

      • Travel to and support on-site logistics for AP African American Studies events (e.g., managing a booth, identifying volunteers, set up/tear down of promotional items, coordination with venue, managing travel and reimbursements for external speakers).

      • Manage requests for AP African American Studies in the AP Super Form, including inquiries, requests for speakers, program brochures, collateral requests, and school visits.

      Administrative Support and Communication (35%)

      • Support relationships with independent contractors (e.g., consultants) and external partners, including contracts, honoraria for speakers, reimbursements.

      • Support internal and external email communications, including collaboration with Comms/Marketing teams on email campaigns to the AP African American Studies community and the AP African American Studies newsletter.

      • Track meeting minutes, update the team’s outreach calendar.

      Project Support and Reporting (25%)

      • Support project-related work such as preparing reports, presentation decks, databases, and spreadsheets.

      • Support the delivery of webinars on AP African American Studies as needed.

      About You

      You have:

      • College degree preferred

      • An obsession with details, being highly organized, and providing impeccable follow through

      • A proactive mindset - an ability and willingness to proactively solve problems, anticipate , and prioritize key tasks and resolve issues both individually and with a team

      • C ommand of the technologies that guide our work, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Expense Systems ( e.g. Concur)

      • S ystems and routines that guide your daily operations and help you squeeze efficiency and productivity out of your time

      • A strength in working well under pressure and implementing feedback effectively

      • S trong skills in written and verbal com munication

      • B een known to be trustworthy, show excellent judgment, collaborate skillfully

      • An ability to plan your work and prioritize projects ; project management experience is a plus

      • Interest in, or prior knowledge of, the African diaspora is a plus but not required

      • A passion for supporting educational and career opportunities for millions of students
