      Loyola Academy seeks a qualified, temporary Physical Education teacher for approximately 14 weeks of the 2024-2025 academic year. Anticipated dates of employment are September 16 - December 20, 2024.


      Responsibilities

      The Physical Education teacher will:
      · Deliver and evaluate a comprehensive Physical Education curriculum on a daily basis.
      · Prepare assignments, quizzes, & written prompts for certain fitness concepts, health components and mental health ideals.
      · Teach and plan lessons that involve fitness and aerobic concepts and Team & Individual Sports.
      · Meet with physical education colleagues, school leaders, and nurses to coordinate lessons and improve students’ fitness and health goals.
      · Able to teach students with varied athletic interests and different physical abilities.

      Necessary Skills

      The Physical Education teacher should possess the following skills:
      · Ability to contribute to the design, delivery and evaluation of a comprehensive Physical Education and Health Education Curriculum.
      · Prepared to enthusiastically teach a wide range of aerobics activities, dance and fitness class concepts.
      · Knowledge/experience teaching basic learn to swim skills.
      · Ability to clearly and consistently communicate and collaborate with students, families, colleagues, teachers and school staff.
      · Lesson Planning and classroom management skills.
      · Dedicated to healthy lifestyles, with an understanding of physiology, nutrition and mental/emotional health.
      · A background in Fitness Instruction concepts.
      · Proficiency in the use of instructional and multimedia technologies.

      Education | Professional Requirements

      Qualified applicants will have:
      · State of Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with Physical Education and Health Education endorsement.
      · American Red Cross Certification.
