- Manage, and oversee pool staff during assigned events in the summer with camps and retreats, as well as relaying important safety information to these groups.
- Supervise and assist in training new lifeguards ensuring all staff have active CPR/AED/First Aid and Water Rescue certification.
- Conduct daily safety walk-throughs of the facility to ensure the area is safe for operation.
- Conduct monthly in-service training and regular evaluations for all Special Programs lifeguarding staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Uphold the University's mission through all work performed.
The temporary pool manager will oversee Special Programs lifeguard staff during the summer 2024. This will allow for increased access to the Swimming Pool for summer groups, enhancing the customer experience and the hospitality of Special Programs. This position will require strong customer service and communication.

Skills and Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree, Lifeguard certification/Instructor, and First Aid/AED certification, Strong swimming ability.
Preferred: Previous experience as pool manager or lifeguard Knowledge of Pepperdine Understanding of G-suite

This is a Temporary, Nonexempt, 10-15 hour per week position.
Expected Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour
The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
